Apple posted a Web page counting down (or actually counting up) to the one billion apps downloaded from the App Store. It’s unbelievable how fast the counter is counting the downloads. But I think this is expected and it shouldn’t be surprise because Apple iPhone sales hit 17 million last month so with so many users, it is natural that apps are being downloaded at amazing speed. This is great, first because it’s cool to see that counter hit 1 billion app downloads. But there is one thing that makes this event even greater…

You can win some cool stuff if you download an app between now and the time that Apple reaches the one billion mark.

All you need to do to enter the contest is go to the App Store and download an app. You are automatically entered to win a $10,000 iTunes Gift Card, an iPod touch, a Time Capsule and a MacBook Pro. You can enter up to 25 times per day, according to the contest rules. Apple made an option for people to  enter the contest even without the need to download any apps.
